"All Aboard!" And welcome to another series of Voyages Into Michigan Past. Once again we'll tour the length and breadth of our great state. We'll visit 17th century Sault Ste. Marie, 18th century Detroit, 19th century Singapore before it was swallowed up by sand dunes, and in the 20th century we'll hop on a buckboard with Booker T. Washington for a jaunt through the famous black settlement in Cass County.

I have booked passage for you on the Griffin, the Walk-in-the Water and the ill fated Alpena. We'll take a ride in a "Merry Oldsmobile," peddle one of Warren Sheffield's velocipedes down the track and board the Erie and Kalamazoo Railroad. Watch out for "snake heads!"
