Thunder Bay Press began in the early 1990s to publish Michigan and Great Lakes regional books. From Travel to Folklore, Juvenile to Outdoor Recreation, History and Nature, Thunder Bay Press is committed to providing books that promote the Great Lakes region.  In 2016 ownership of Thunder Bay Press changed hands, and it is now owned and operated by the Penrose family, authors of several guidebooks to the Great Lakes area.  The mission of Thunder Bay Press remains the same, however:  to bring the Great Lakes to you.
